Rhubarb Chutney

Ingredients
3 lb Rhubarb
8 oz Sultanas or dates
one Onion
8 oz Sugar
2 oz Salt
a little Cayenne Pepper
1 pint Vinegar

Method

Place all the ingredients into one pint of vinegar and boil.  Simmer till quite tender and then place in jars and store as for jam.

I found this very old hand made recipe book which my mother had put together.  The pages had been duplicated on a Roneo or Gestetner.  The cover had been hand decorated.
