MethodCut the vegetables into pieces and place in a pan with 3 oz Sugar. cover with vinegar and simmer of 5 minutes. Retain a little vinegar to make a paste of the Turmeric and Mustard Powders and the Flour. Add the paste to the pan and boil for 3 minutes. Allow to cool and use or put in jars for keeping. I found this very old hand made recipe book which my mother had put together. The pages had been duplicated on a Roneo or Gestetner. The cover had been hand decorated.
