Chutney

Ingredients
1 lb Chopped Apples
1 lb Skinned Tomatoes
4 oz Raisins
4 oz Dates
4 oz Prunes (stoned)
4 oz Sultanas
8 oz Onions, sliced
12 oz Sugar
1.5 pints Vinegar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp Ginger
1 tsp Turmeric
Quarter tsp Cayenne Pepper

Method

Mix all the flavourings with the vinegar.  Add the fruit and boil until thick.  Pour into jars and cover.

I found this very old hand made recipe book which my mother had put together.  The pages had been duplicated on a Roneo or Gestetner.  The cover had been hand decorated.
