Raspberry Buns

Ingredients
4 oz Plain Flour
1.5 oz Lard and Margarine mixed
1.5 oz Sugar
1 Egg
0.5 level tsp Baking Powder
Raspberry Jam

Method

Rub the fat into the flour until it is like bread crumbs.  Add the sugar and baking powder.  Beat the egg and mix to a stiff dough.  Turn onto a board and roll with hands into a long sausage.  Divide into 6 portions.  Form each portion into a ball and form a hole in the centre.  Add the jam into the hole and seal returning the portion to a ball (containing jam).

Bake in a fairly quick oven for about 20 minutes.
